To the Brothers of Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Greetings Brothers, I hope this communications reaches you in good health and in high spirits for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
The purpose of this communication is to make the Brothers of Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter aware of the Golf Tournament Committee’s decision and to make a special appeal to the Brothers for their help.
After meeting on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, the committee decided to continue and move forward to host the Tournament as scheduled for June 9, 2012. The tournament will be held at Furman University Golf Course. When we considered all of the effort already put forward to sponsor the tournament and the effort to coordinate among the many other tournaments held by other groups, we thought it would not be a good idea to postpone the event. We also considered if we held the tournament in the fall, we would encounter other seasonal event conflicts like football season and start of school. We further decided that we should identify an annual date for the tournament to develop consistency of date in the future. We are hopeful we can implement a final push to make this fundraising event successful.
This special appeal to the Brothers is to help us generate financial support to make the tournament fundraising event a success. We are asking every Brother to be responsible for getting one hole sponsor ($100) and getting at least 2 persons to play in the tournament, men, women and children. The committee would like to suggest the Brothers use some creativity in generating funds as follows:
1 Brother(family) sponsor a hole, brothers (family name) on hole.
2 brothers sponsor a hole, both names on the sign.
1 business sponsor a hole, business name and logo on sign.
2 business sponsor a Hole, both names and logos on the sign.
We hope that the Brothers will step up and help make this fundraising event successful.
Thank you in advance for your support.
Brotherly,
Michael Chatman,
Chairman, Robert Anderson II Golf Tournament
