Location set for Cherokee Valley Golf Course, Travelers Rest

Price is $85 per player

11:30 AM, shot gun start at 1 PM.

Depending on the number or people playing, we will have 3 flights of first, second and third flight with first, second and third place in each flight. There will also be 4 closest to the pin ($25 each) Total prize money $~ 625

It’s that time again. Time to plan the 2011 Robert W. Anderson Golf Tournament. This year I have already contacted the various Golf Associations and Clubs around the area and we are locked in for April 2, 2011. Now we need to determine where and what time we want to sponsor the tournament. We also need to begin soliciting sponsors and work out the details to help make this year’s event a success.

Committee Meetings are every Friday at 6:30 PM at Club 100 off Haywood Road.

Outcome: Made about $1500 from tournament with 28 participants. Held on Rolling Greens Course.

Status:

The committee met on Friday (July 2) to plan this year’s Robert Anderson Golf Tournament. Thanks to everyone who attended.

The tournament has been placed on the Golf Clubs’ calendar for August 28, 2010.

Location

The group considered contacting the following locations for the Tournament

Hejaz

Rolling Greens

Southern Oaks

Willow Creek

Cherokee Valley was eliminated due to the conditions of their greens

Robert and Travis to contact and summarize their availability. Travis and Mike to coordinate which courses to contact.

Price

The price this year will be the same as last year, $75

Time

We are hoping to start the tournament 1 p.m.

Prizes

Depending on the number or people playing, we will have 3 flights of first, second and third flight with first, second and third place in each flight.

Flight prize will be $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third place in the flight.

There will also be 2 closest to the pin ($25 each) and 1 long drive ($50)

Total prize money $625

As in every tournament the profit is in the advertisement of hole sponsorships. We have set the advertisement at $100 per hole.
